Have you walked with the Annual Atlanta BeltLine Lantern Parade?

Some people are saying 50,000 people came out Saturday night to be a part of the Krewe of the Grateful Gluttons‘ 6th annual Lantern parade. With the popularity of the Atlanta BeltLine’s Eastside Trail, its not surprising. It hasn’t always been this way. The 2010 was thought to have 500 people, and that may have been optimistic. The parade started in Reynoldstown and went through the Krog Street tunnel and up Dekalb Ave. We walked in the dirt that night and loved it. Do you remember the parade that was down in Historic 4th Ward Park? Giant Lotus lanterns floated in the pond. The parade has always brought out the best in Atlanta. The night is filled with smiles and laughter, and lanterns of all sizes.
